Description of the author's tour
Not far from Ust-Kamenogorsk on the outskirts of the village is the oldest paleontological natural monument – open geological section. Here you can see live the prints of marine plants or animals – a kind of stone «photographs», which are more than one hundred million years old. Here in the waters of the Altai Sea lived brachipods and mosshanks, cephalopods and shellfish, sea lilies and corals…
